How God Called Me – From Seeking Life's Meaning to Finding Eternal Life

By Anonymous · 7/21/2026

Before Christ

Hello everyone! Today I want to share my life testimony – how God called me. On the morning of August 12, 2021, when I woke up, God put a sentence in my heart: "Number my days." From that day on, I knew God wanted me to review my life, to count His grace and guidance all along the way. Therefore, I hope to gradually share with everyone how God step by step called me, changed me, and the grace I experienced in ministry. My story goes back to 1998. At that time, I was not a Christian. In fact, I was someone who liked to think deeply about life. I constantly searched for the meaning of life, and for the ultimate answers to life. Friends gave me many books on different religions, including Buddhism, Islam, and others. I read them all diligently, hoping to find the true truth. However, the deeper I delved, the more I found that many questions could not be truly answered, and my heart never had peace. On the other hand, my upbringing was in a family that worshipped many idols, including Japanese Buddha statues. Being exposed to this from a young age, I also felt it was a very natural thing. Although outwardly everything seemed normal, inwardly there was always an unexplainable emptiness and fear. More specifically, I had always been very resistant to Christianity. This was because a relative once asked me: “Do you want to believe in Jesus?” I asked him in return: “Why should I believe in Jesus?” He replied: “If you don’t believe, I don’t need to tell you.” I found this very strange, so I said: “Then don’t bother.” Unexpectedly, he immediately said to me: “You’re doomed this time; you’ll definitely go to hell!” This statement made me very angry and created extreme aversion towards Christianity. I thought to myself: Why use threats to force people to believe in Jesus? From then on, whenever someone shared the gospel with me, I would refuse. Looking back, I realized that many people weren't rejecting Jesus, but rather, due to incorrect ways of expressing it, they were stumbled. But God did not give up on me. Human methods are limited, but God has His own ways.

How I met Jesus

How God Touched My Life – A Dream That Changed My Life Forever At 5:30 AM on October 25, 1998, I had a very vivid dream. In the dream, I was constantly looking for my teachers and classmates. I passed through a street and heard a series of pounding sounds. After entering, it seemed like a Buddhist temple. The host inside had a terrifying appearance, even his eyes had fallen out. I immediately left. Then, I entered another building. As soon as I entered, it felt very eerie. Looking closely, it turned out to be a graveyard, with graves everywhere. I was very scared, so I had no choice but to keep moving forward. Later, I walked up a slope and saw many Japanese women fleeing in terror, screaming and crying. It turned out that a crazy killer was on a rampage. My heart grew more and more anxious: where else could I go? Just then, I came to a crossroads. I chose to take a new path. After pushing open a door, a beautiful large garden and a lovely house suddenly appeared before my eyes. It was filled with peace and tranquility, forming a strong contrast to all the terrifying scenes just moments before. However, I was still afraid in my heart. I kept asking myself: Will this also be a dead end? Will that killer chase me here? Just when I was at a loss, Suddenly, a clear voice from heaven said: "You are alive." At that moment, I woke up. After waking up, I knew this dream must have a special meaning, so I recorded it in detail. At that time, I didn't know God was speaking to me. Later, I understood that God, through this dream, guided me to start seeking Him. I also thought of what Jesus later said: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." It turned out I had been seeking, and God had already begun to respond to my search. Not long after, a Christian couple who had returned from Canada came to my house. During our conversation, I shared this dream with them. They told me: "You are alive" is not an ordinary phrase, but Jesus’ promise of eternal life to those who believe in Him. For the first time, I seriously thought: could God really be speaking to me? Later, another Christian friend moved into a new home and invited me to visit. As I walked to the door of one of the rooms, I suddenly had a very familiar feeling. I couldn't help but ask him: "What's inside?" He said: "Open it and see." When I pushed open the door, I was stunned. Inside was a large cross. It turned out that was where their family held home gatherings and worshipped God. In that moment, I immediately remembered the door I pushed open in my dream. I told him about the dream. He said, "God is calling you, Jesus is inviting you to be His child." It was only then that I began to understand: none of this was a coincidence. God had been looking for me all along.

My life today

After knowing the Lord – I Found True Life Later, I continued to learn about the Bible and also began to know Jesus. I gradually understood: the real problem in life is not just daily difficulties, but rather humanity's separation from God. I also saw that the idols I had relied on and worshipped in the past could not bring true life. Instead, they made me feel more and more death and fear. Only Jesus Christ can bring true peace. Only He can grant eternal life. I finally accepted Jesus as my Savior. From that day on, my life was never the same. God not only gave me new life but also continuously guided me, shaped me, and called me to serve Him. Today, as I look back and count my days, I am even more convinced: it was not I who sought God, but God who first sought me. Just as the Lord Jesus said: "You did not choose me, but I chose you." (John 15:16) May my testimony encourage everyone who is still searching for life's answers.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)"
